Receiving Child Support Payments

We strive to make sure that payments made by the noncustodial parent (NCP) and owed to the custodial party (CP) are delivered in a timely manner. To assist CPs, the State Disbursement Unit (SDU) provides the following options for receiving support payments:

  • Direct Deposit – you can have the payments automatically deposited into a checking or savings account. There are several ways to enroll:
    • You can enroll online at Direct Deposit Login. You will need to provide your social security number and your participant identification number.
    • You can enroll by telephone. You may call the SDU at (866) 901-3212, Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time. You will need to provide your social security number and your participant identification number.
    • You can enroll using the California Child Support App.
    • You can enroll by mail by completing a Direct Deposit Authorization Form and mailing it to the SDU at:

CA SDU
P.O. Box 989064
West Sacramento, CA 95798-9064

  • Electronic Payment Card (EPC) – You receive a Mastercard branded card that works like a debit card. You can receive support payments easier, faster and have access to the funds 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The card can be used everywhere Mastercard is accepted. Some fees may be associated with the Electronic Payment Card.
    • You can enroll online at Enroll for EPC.
  • Standard Bank Check – if you do not select one of the options above, the SDU will send the payment to the CP's current mailing address on record with the Department of Child Support Services.
