How do I open a case with CSSD? 150 150 Child Support Services

If your child is currently receiving aid ("welfare") you do not have to complete an application form.  We will automatically open a case for you.

If you are not receiving aid:

  • You may enroll for Child Support Services.
  • You may request an enrollment packet through our Live Chat feature by clicking the "Ask Live" icon that you see at top of this page.  Live Chat is available Monday -Friday, 7:30am - 5:00pm.
  • You may e-mail a request for an enrollment packet, with your name and mailing address, to our Customer Service team at cservice@cssd.lacounty.gov
  • You may request an enrollment packet by telephone by contacting our Customer Contact Center at (866) 901-3212.  Include your name and address and we will mail you an enrollment packet. The best time to call to speak with a child support representative is Tuesday through Friday, between the hours of 7 a.m. and 9 a.m.
  • When enrolling for services, you must complete an Income & Expense Declaration.  Here is the link to the form, Income & Expense Declaration.  You will need to complete, print this document and mail.
  • Once completed, send the signed, completed enrollment form and all forms (including Income & Expense Declaration) to:
