Child Support Services Releases Annual Report for Federal Fiscal Year 2024–2025

COMMERCE, CA — The Los Angeles County Child Support Services Department (CSSD) has released its Annual Report for Federal Fiscal Year 2024–2025. The report outlines the department’s mission, vision, strategic priorities, partnerships, community engagement efforts, and key accomplishments.

During the reporting period, CSSD distributed $517,159,384 in child support payments. Of that total, 92 percent went directly to families, while 8 percent reimbursed public assistance. Research shows that consistent child support payments reduce child poverty and decrease reliance on public assistance programs.

Additionally, CSSD provided services to 294,447 children and established parentage for 189,349 children in its caseload. Establishing parentage secures important rights for children born to unmarried or same-sex parents, including access to Social Security benefits, military and survivor benefits, inheritance rights, and health insurance coverage.

Moreover, CSSD staff provided services for 27,531 parents who visited our offices and brought our services to approximately 28,000 people in the community through departmental partnerships, outreach events, workshops and classes.

Beyond financial support, the child support program contributes to improved cognitive and educational outcomes for children. Through direct services, legal action, and community partnerships, CSSD continues to support the well-being and stability of families across Los Angeles County.
